There are bigger problems than the no wake designation, mainly the ripping current and the challenge of docking. Those docks on the northside of the ramps seem to have eased the frustration level, since boaters now have more of a staging area to drop people off to get the tow vehicle.
The absolute nicest thing about that ramp is the fact that it's no wake. I can't think of another ramp like it where you can unload, and be on plane and in the Gulf as quick. If they're talking about no wake to marker 1, that would be a fairly long ride. There are a lot of "hot doggers" out there (i.e., jet skiers), but there are already laws in place that enable the marine patrol to control that problem.
