What other species can you shoot other than the obvious striper, blues and taug in NJ?
Of course were speaking of edible fish. In N.E our options are somewhat limited. when I went snorkeling I saw stripes and blues...thats it
Somebody waas talking about spearing 17 different species in 1 day so it got me wondering.

yes lobster pots. They are on the edge of the mud hole and along the barnegat ridge.Blue water is a must for dolphin.I heard of a trick you can use.Throw out a pallet with some rope tied off and dangling from it.Mark it with a flag, check current direction and come back later. There is a good chance dolphin will find it.

Fletchosaurus,

Last week on the NESN (New England Sports Network) there was a show on called (Kettlebottom Outdoors) with Capt. Robb Roach . This show is based out of RI, Jamestown to be exact. They were out on a boat just outside the east gap off of Point Judith. They were catching Mahi. My dive partner claimed that he saw one last year, but couldn't pull off a shot. So they are around.

Check out the website. http://www.kettlebottom.com/ at the bottom of the page is a video of them catching the fish.

Cheers,
Muzzy

Don't know the depths or even the spot you are talking about...but if the Mahi are anything like they are here, you should only have to float at the surface to get a shot at them. Maybe they are deeper up in the NE
