This link is a handy way to check the lake level on your favorite spearin' site.

I know some of you have the Major lakes in a software program. If you punch the adjustable Lake levels into the program, you will know the current depth and aproximate water temperature at the structure your'e planning to spear on.
This site's info. can let you know if the lake has a large band of hydrilla on the surface around the shoreline and islands.
If you are one of those that don't like the hydrilla, then this link can tell you if you need to go to a Lake without hydrilla. ;)

Thanks for the link Jeffe.

I'm going to TRY and hit the water a couple of times in early January to test run a new gun. If you have some time and want to hook up you can find me at fmoore@alltel.net.

Have boat will travel...

The Corps link says that Ouachita is really low right now. I expect that they are working on the Hydrilla problem. Up on the West end of the lake it is at epedemic porportions. I have mixed thoughts on the Hydrilla. On one hand it is such valuable fish shelter, and on the other it is such a pain in the a$$. In August of this year I burnt a tank of air clearing a boat trail through the Hydrilla to my favorite campsite on Big Fir Point.
Do you dive the east end mostly ?
10* at my house this Morning.

I went to Lake greeson this morning and while there I took this photo to compare with the USCOE Lake Levels link.
Here's the link also:

The first white number at the bottom of the photo is 541 feet of pool elevation, each line is six inches of elevation.
