I have been dragging home "trophys", from the Lake for years. Each has the memory of a dive associated with it. Example: the old steel 63 cubic foot tank with a "J" valve, was found in Lake Ouachita. Hanging in the limbs of a Submerged hardwood tree in 65 feet of water, on the north side of Crystal Island. My dive Buddy and I could hardly believe our eyes ! It had a old single hose regulator and a hard back pack on it, no SPG. It was hanging by the nylon back pack harness, the j valve was in the up position, rod still attached. The tank was flooded, and the valve was off. The only way we could figure it might have got into the tree was by looking at where it was in relation to the Island. We think that a boat came around the end of the island into heavy swells and lost it overboard. We "divvied" up the loot, he took the regulator and back pack, I took the tank, thinking I got ripped off. Nothing from the setup was of value, untill the Wife said I needed to do "something" with all that "Lake trash" that I had accumilated.
Well, she never thought that I would hang it back up in a tree !
Anyone herd any stories that might be related to this tank ? I would make a WAG,(wild a$$ed guess), that it must have been in the Lake for ten years, we found it in the Summer of 1998.
All items found on/in the Lake.

He, He, Yep it'sa' chime alright. But it isn't the small tinkling sound that most wind chimes have. This one gives a deep vibrant, low tone. The size of the old fenders makes it active even at low wind speeds. The large black fender has a soft braided nylon line that is low enough to the ground that the grand kids can make it chime. The door bell gets little use since this thing has been in a very large old Oak tree by the driveway.
