Have anybody ever used flashers off shore for fish such as stripers? Do you find them worth while to rig and bother with?

not sure what you mean by offshore, but in NJ stripers are off limits outside 3 miles (state waters) and that's what I consider off shore. Regardless, you will prolly have success with a flasher offshore with some kind of fish being attracted to it.

i'm making a flasher now, and although it won't be tested in the mid atlantic/north east (yet) I am told they work wonders on attracting hard to find pelagics (wahoo, dolphin, macks, etc.). Ringing them doesn't seem too hard either. I'll put pics up when I am finished and post a report (in the keys section) when I test it out bluewater.

here in florida we use them bluewater hunting, I have to say the sharks are always really interested in them, which makes it nice because they could care less about you when their is a bunch of shiny objects on a line in the water.. As for fish, sometimes they work well, other times not so much

I plan on removing hooks from some kasmasters or jigs and tie off to kleet of boat. Hopefully attracting bass here on north shore of LI. With me and my riffe out on perimeter waiting.

You know what might work. Spinnerbait blades. My brother used to get a catalog that sold parts and terminal tackle in bulk. They used to sell the blades for pretty cheap. I bet they would work good. There lightweight so I'm sure they'd flutter a lot and you could probably get packs of a hundred or so at a decent price. Maybe try the biggest willow leaf blades they make. Anyways, just a thought. Heres a link to a pick if your unfamiliar with what I'm talking about. http://www.bassdozer.com/images/blades-slo-wilo-45n.jpg

Flutter spoons /flashers (salmon fishing) are a good deal too. 100 or so for around 25 bucks. The problem is cudas love em more than others. Rig 'em on wire.

Yea I bought a bunch in bolk. The big ones are great and look like they will work wonders. I also mistakenly bought the smaller ones and they look like they'll be too small. Do a search on here for a post by kjlyfish...he made a good lookin flasher that I am modeling mine after...also elcid had a good one he made too.
