Barrel Plug

Anybody have any ideas as to what can be used for a barrel Plug? Made some modifications on a Cayman 75 cm Omer. Put new Muzzle on and took out old plug. Ready to put new one on but need to make sure it will be waterproof, hence barrel plug. I know that Hammerhead sells them but was wondering if anyone has used anything else.
Also, anyone every hear of using two bands on this particular gun, new muzzle will accomodate two but am hesitant to put two on.
Lastly, I got a new shaft from Hammerhead spearguns. It is engaging into the loading mechanism but when I push the trigger it does not release without getting hungup on something inside...... It is a little shorter than the stock shaft but larger diameter and more mass.
