Australia for 2 weeks

Hey dudes,

I'll be over in Australia up near Cairns for about 2 weeks. From July 9th-22nd. Looking to do some spearfishing, either shore diving or 2-3 charters. Would anyone be able to help me out and show me around. I'll be staying in hostels or camping around at this point, unless I find a home. I'm in New Zealand right now, but looking forward to do some diving there. Thanks dudes.

NZ is pretty good mate, i reckon the shore diving is far better in NZ than up in cairns unless the weather is perfect or on the reefs way off shore.

That's true, BlackTeam. If you are in the right spots, shore diving can be really good.

Get yourself out on a boat to the reefs out of Cairns. Maybe speak to the guys at Adrenaline in Brisbane to see if they have any contacts out of Cairns.

Try these guys, they were Team Coral Sea at the recent tuna comp in Cape Town, and are from up north Cairns way -

i live near there and have been to cairns a few times. the shore diving is not good, i would',t count on it. lots of rivers and not so good viz. as far as the reefs offshore go, loaded with fish but lots of green zones. i think your best bet would be to go to spearfishing.com.au and join the forum on the site. just put out a post for that general area and you should hear back soon.
