Got out yesterday at about 8:30 AM. Was surprisingly windy for about an hour, contrary to the Cape May wind data. High water was around 11:00 and the sea was very flat out 6 miles. It could have been a little warmer, today would have been better for heat. The water temp semed to lose about 10 degrees. The D3 recorded 54F at 55' on one dive and would have read closer to 50F if I were to leave it on the bottom for 5 minutes. I heard someone logged 49F lately. We definitely lost ground as far as temp goes. Visibility was poor (7') and got worse after the tide shifted. Couldn't scour the sand for flounder in that poor vis. All in all there were excellent surface conditions. For a holiday, road traffic was surprisingly light. I was even expecting heavier boat traffic than I did. I guess it's the gas. Came home and had a good nap after a couple hours of cleaning gear and boat. The sleep-deprived work week caught up to me on my first day off Saturday. I should have scrapped Saturday and shot for Sunday. Look forward to any other reports.

Looks clean out there today.. I can see 4 to 5' off the jetty here in Lbi. Although, this head cold is killing me. Thinking of stopping at the squan tomorrow on the way up north.

What were wind conditions like up your way today? Do you think they helped or hurt the possibility for Monday diving?

The Raritan Bay and up the Hudson and Arthur kill has sick vis for those spots right now. The vis was 7-10 feet. Big shortnose sturgeons all around.
