With the rising costs of fuel and oil, I'm not going to be surprise of seeing many of our spearboard members going to sell their boats and switching over to kayaks, I'm one of them kayaker. I think having a kayak diving section is a great idea, along with threads of having posts like good spot to launch, gimmicks to add on, stores to go to, and such. Bloodydecks has kayak fishing, why not us as kayak diving?

Great idea. I'm wayyy too poor to afford a boat(probably too broke to be able to ride on one either ), and most of my friends have 'yaks. Maybe this forum will give me the proper motivation to go out and get one for myself!

Great idea, Ray. Most of us NorCal guys are kayakers already, anyways!

a lot if great kayak info here, much of it may not apply to diving/spearing but may be worth checking out. http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zeroforum?id=26

bluesquids,
If and when your rotator gives out, go to www.hobiecat.com/kayacking (http://www.hobiecat.com/kayacking) adventure instead of stopping kayacking. I can average 5mph [by gps] for hours and it also helps build up my legs for diving. Gregg

Shoulder, elbow and wrist problems from kayaking are almost always from improper paddling technique and are easily avoided. A half-day lesson from a certified kayak instructor is a great investment in your joint health.
