Luck Changed on a Dime

We took a beach dive Saturday and the rollers were huge. We went out about half way to high tide. The current was ripping and visibility was about 3 feet. Real bummer. My brothers and I ditched spearing and went back to the beach for some sand castle building, cuz sand castles are awesome. About 3 hrs later (4:30 ish) im bored enough to head back in the water for slack high - mostly just hoping for a swim. No one wants to come out because they all agree if the viz was as bad as it was, its not going to get better in a day. I get out there and, sure enough, the viz still sucks. To make the best of it I hang out looking for crabs. Then, JettyHunter in his camo boat pulls up and agrees the viz sucks, tells me im not smart for diving alone (agreed),and leaves for better water. About 10 minutes later, slack high hits, and unbelievably, the water opens up to about 10 feet! And, to top it off, im surrounded by striper! I must have seen 2 dozen shooters and double as many shorts. I shot a 42 inch and a 38. Here's the bigger guy. Moral of the story is, never give up till you have a fish, or F the viz and enjoy the murk.

P.S. ordered scale but did not recieve yet, so I don't know what this guy weighed. Anyone interested, this seemed like a good deal on a well reviewed scale.

That cape may jetty is producing! The big bass are still up this way with the viz in the bay at 10ft plus it should be a good week

Go ahead Gene way to get'em. Yeah ended up stayin on the south jetty and killing triggers. Saw a lot of small bass but nothing worth pulling the kill switch on.

Another great fish!:beer: Keep the pics coming. I've been dying to get in the water just haven't had the time during the day. I've been doing well at night with the rod livelining bunker though...... Man, I really need to do some shooting. At least now I'll have plenty of time to get out for the rest of the summer........of course there's this pesky chest high swell running at the moment :(
