I have a couple questions regarding my new Gat-ku. First what is the rubber length for a 9 footer, since I bought mine in to different length sections. Secondly I got a slip-tip that looks like a jbl 3" tip, but is much smaller ( not the gat-ku sliptip ). I am kinda worried about the tip penetration because the rear of the tip has two pieced that are flared out. I know that these catch in the meat and are supposed to make the tip toggle sideways, but I thought only one is necassary, so will the tip still toggle if I cut one flared piece off ??

Usually I go with 250%-300% stretch on my polespear rubbers. On my carbon Sea Horse I stretch to 400%.
I think the Gat-Ku rubber is 7/16" od by 1/8" wall.
The slip-tip will work with only one ear left on. This style of slip-tip has been around for along time. The double ears will work fine on your polespear and you should have no problem penetrating a fish with it.
People have gone away from this style due to it being not as hydrodynamic as say an Alexander, Kitto, etc...
