Damn! Seems pretty fricken cruel to me. They need to revisit that policy and come up with something rational. I think they overreacted just a little when they enacted that rule. Preparation for finals can mean some long waking hours, and I can see how it would be possible to miss an early morning final.

The rule is called the Deion rule because he did not go to a single exam before his last bowl game. They probably didn't anticipate this situation.

In either case, the guy's a dumbass. Missing a final in general is just stupid, doing it with that much at stake is unbelievable.

He's a dumbass. No one to blame but himself. And perhaps the FSU athletic dept for not having someone follow him around and make sure he doesn't screw up.

Maybe he was out partying all night and slept through the alarm. I can see Rix and his friends laughing their asses off that he had to get out of bed for a religious exam. His buddies were probably telling him, "I know it's 3:00AM, but you don't have to leave now, dude. It's a friggin religious exam. There are no wrong answers."

Yeah, I can see that based on my college days. One year, it was the last day of finals, and all I had left was an ethics exam at 3:00PM on a Friday. All my buddies were done with their finals, and the big party was at the local watering hole. I was pretty toasted when I handed my final to the instructor. He gave me a strange look when I handed in the test. He told me the following semester that he was "disappointed" in my final, but gave me an "A" since I had aced the class all year.
