well i got a polespear..i went down to longport..not the jettys and got in and theres tog everywhere so im looking around for a nice 1 but after i see 2 or 3 brown sharks i shoot the next big 1 i see measured at 22 inch! looked a lil bigger underwater(maybe i should go skinny dipping:D....anyway very cool hope to get out there again

I'm still trying to get my first, but haven't had much luck yet.

I'm going to try today in the longport area...probably starting around 4:30-5:00. High tide is around 5:30. Let me know if you want to go.

I highly encourage new speros to learn with a pole spear. It is important to learn how to judge fish before getting something powerful and dangerous.

Here is a photo of a home made sling made of a rusty pole, paint roller handle surgical tubing and a wire nut cap. It rules!! This is how you should learn to spearfish. These guys were diving shark river on a really murky rough day full of fisherman and sea robins. The one kid didn't have flippers and they went all the way around the tip through crashing waves and fishing lines and hooks.
It was just so cool to see how stoked these guys were to be in the water looking for fish, by any means necessary.
