How's the A/C?
2 ton unit in the small tower, 4 ton unit on the big tower. Both are remote controlled and get it nice and cold. the A/C runs off of an 8500 watt generator. Fuel for the Generator is not included in the price of the rental for the night. With the Generator on you can run the A/C and the fans.
top sleeping area in the big tower is 20x30 and the smaller tower is 16x18.
I got A/C after one year it got so hot I wanted to just start crying...:D
There is a refrigerator that is powered by Solar so you it makes it nice to not have to live out of a cooler.
Full pressurized water system so you can take nice cold showers in the summer, hot ones in the winter. full modern septic system....:D

About 70 miles back the opposite way you take to get there, you'll find what you need. :thumps: I am a coffee drinker, BIG TIME, and while I was down there I had no desire to drink anything hot. The weather is so hot, you might wish for a frappaccino, ice cold, that is. No desire for coffee for me.

I get tired of the view like a junkie gets tired of shooting up........
Remember its only July-Sep where its too hot. The other months the water can get cold and I have to turn on a heater in my place. When the water is cold other types of fish come in. Its kinda cool to see it change underwater with the seasons.
Sounds better in the winter.
Al I know is I was very happy to get back to the Monterey cold water.

The cost of the entire build and land cost me about $250k 6 years ago before the road got paved. There is 80 meters of beach front with 40 meters deep. 3200 square meters Lots on the beach are selling for 100k now and are 10meters frontage by 20 meters deep. Up in San Felipe they are twice as much. I plan to add rooms in the top story to make 4 bedrooms and add a bathroom upstairs in the big tower. Right now the main tower is one big open room. both sides have A/C. I am also going to add a balcony on the main tower that will cover the lower patio.
Im not sure what its worth now, but to me it dosent matter because I will never sell it. I plan to retire there. Its paid off.:thumps:
As time goes by there will be nice stone flooring downstairs and wood flooring upstairs. I also want to add to the solar system. The house is "GREEN" and all power is made by the sun. It powers all the house and refrigerator. The only thing I need a generator for is A/C in the summer.
The Castle is a work in progress, I dont think I will ever get it to the perfect state that is in my head.

gonetobaja
10-03-2008, 04:03 PM
If you rent it for 5 days you get Sat and Sunday for free.:D
I will throw in 3 water tank fills in the price also.
this week the A/C was a key factor in being able to sleep.

Is it weird that I dream about this house? You are living the dream.....Once I finish grad school and get a job I'll be hitting you up..I hope you don't plan on moving down there soon!
Do you have any more pics of the house? or pics of fish from your front yard?

I am heading down to the house again tomorrow to do some fishing and a little bit of work on the place.
Here are some pics of stuff off the shore right in front of or within 3 minutes of a walk or drive of the house.

For some reason the fish just tastes better down there.....pretty much cant eat fish or seafood from a resturant now. Cold beer and fried fish while looking at the milky way at night, Cant really put it into words.
Fishunter, our last Puertecitos Open we collected over 1,500 dollars in donations and bought all the block and concrete to build a house for the local rescue guy (and friend of mine) Naty.
We now have a house built but it has no roof or windows. He had the money saved up for the roof and windows but had to use it to rebuild his truck after he stuck it in the sand at low tide and it got swallowed by the sea. he had to take the entire truck apart and clean it and then replace the engine, transmisison, diffs, etc. Took all of his house finishing money. I am thinking of having another event to raise the money he needs to finish his place.
I will post up a trip report on monday after I get back.

Si Senior, one fat little piggy of a barred Pargo. In this area they get pretty big, off shore at the islands they get even bigger.

Sorry Baribasher, not Gonzaga.
We are north of Gonzaga by about 50 miles. We fish the same islands, the islas encantadas. We are where the pavement ends south of San Felipe, about 5 hours from San Diego. I know what you mean about the weather in Aug. One time my kids started crying from the heat at night. Thats when I decided to get air conditioning for my place. We have a generator that I hate to run because it kills the peace and quiet of the area but at night when it gets blazing hot, I have two units on the top of the house that make it nice and cool inside! There is nothing like the action there for fish in the summer as long as you can pass out in an A/C environment at the end of the day.

the rain dosent mess stuff up as much as the wind and tide. If you can get to the islands there is a ton of snapper around now.

Dale,
Where do you stay when a group is renting your place?
At my mansion in Alpine CA.
:D
My beach house is a retirement place that I only use when I want to go diving.
I figured that while its sitting all alone I might as well rent it for cheap.
