Here is the last round of 2008 Palm Beach Open Photos. The fantastic prize wall and ceremony was great fun!
First, our master of ceremonies was Bill Black, the former manager of the Force E Dive Center in Riviera Beach. Bill is a very knowledgable diver spearfisher and hook & line fisher. Here are some photos of Bill tossing out goodies to the crowed room.
Great job Bill! :thumps:

Then, there was a massive free-for-all as everyone came up to get the many remaining prizes. As I said at the beginning of this thread, there were plenty of nice prizes. Contestants were getting spearguns and other high value items pretty far down the list throughout the ceremony.
But, the interesting thing is the story of Emily Woodberry. She came down from her normal hunting grounds near Cape Canaveral to dive off Palm Beach. Her take was small to say the least as the photo below indicates. She went up to the prize table at the very end and picked up a $100 value item - a certificate for the purchase of 5 raffle tickets for the $250,000 boat out in the parking lot. :)
The raffle drawing is not until next May. Would'nt it be ironic if the last place finisher at the 2008 Palm Beach Blue Storm Open were to win that boat? Stranger things have happened!
Congratulations Emily on making the list of PBO winners! :yippee:

With a 1 in 2500 shot, I have a pretty good chance. :D
Then there's luxery tax and gas to mention a couple of concerns...
If I win it, I'll figure it out.

Emily, check out this thread. The odds per ticket would be 1 in 12,500 which is still a whole lot better than Lotto odds.

While it may not happen, I believe the sponsor is trying to get a year's supply of fuel added into the prize package. Would'nt that be great?
FYI, Tony

Since I have 5 tickets, my odds are 5 in 12,500 or 1 in 2500 (12,5000 / 5)
A years supply of gas would be killer!

Oh...I see what you mean. Good point!
Somebody could buy 250 tickets and dramatically increase their odds. ;)
