Back when we were discussing jug line practices and how to follow your diver with a good bottom machine, I decided next time I went out to snap a photo of what following your diver looks like - thats the second photo - the first one really is a secret spot ;)

Its not hard to see a bubble trail under the water, which way the current and your diver are going - it takes a long time for the smaller bubbles which you can plainly see to reach the surface. You can also get an idea about the current by the distance the bubbles travel and how far apart the large bubbles are from the small ones. If you look close, you can see him kneeling down in front of the ledge praying that the vis gets better (it was about a foot) :)

Maybe you guys can snap your favorite spot (don't forget to include GPS/Loran numbers in photo)

Hey Tony,

Thats two furuno RD-30's that are capable of showing lots of different data via various screens. They get all the data they need from the navnet system. They show things like depth, time, speed, course, waypoint info, temperature, bearing, position in latlon or td's etc.

I've always liked having two large displays to show my position in LAT/LON and TD's at the same time - sure makes things a lot easier. While I'm running I generally show temperature, depth, time, and the hiway graphics with all the waypoint information with the radar on the large color screen with lolipop waypoint display to see if someone is already on the next spot we are on our way to (and bad weather if its necessary).

Its a nice system, I'd purchase it over again for sure.

ScottC.I agree with ya on Furunos .I have a GP35 and a Micrologic Loran. The Furuno stays in hiway most of the time and the loran in goto.I have a Furuno color machine but it's tube type not LCD.I'd buy another one tommorow if I needed a replacement.Next boat a year or 2 from now will be same loran but bigger color machine for my old eyes and a bigger memory in the GPS.The GP35 only holds 350 and unless I run it in to upload an area I have to leave just a few #s from each area and carry the"book"offshore.Goodluck Sunday if you go.
