Hello all...I've heard so many different methods of preserving spear band integrity; is there a truly effective way to avoid dry rot when one's gun is not being used often? Any advice would most appreciated. Thanks!

SpearOne, but if I'm not going to be using my gun for a while I take them off, spray them with silicone and put them in a zip lock baggie. I then stick them in my dive bag, NOT the freezer.

Take the bands off the gun wipe them down with WD 40.
Try to keep in a air condition place.
