I just stopped my my local kayak shop to take a close up look at the prowler trident 15. It has the long thin hatch for fishing poles. It is big and looks like it will hold a huge gun with reel no problem. While looking at it I look up and see a scupper Pro brand new on the shelf three up. I asked about it and was told they have started selling it again because there was so much damand. It is $749.00 it is nice but I think the Prowler trident is nicer for what I want it for.

I love the scupper. Great boat. But I agree, for the (new) price go with a prowler trident.

OK has brought back the Scupper Pro for 09. MSRP is 749 as stated above. kayak is available in the "Classic" color line (yellow sunrise and lime). the first available SPTW's were shipped in July to dealers.

Before you run out and get one just be advised that the new Scupper Pro that is on the market now IS NOT compatible with an OK rudder system. I called the company a few months ago and they did confirm that they were reintroducing the model but with that change to the body.

$749. Wow! I was lucky enough to get an old model that hadn't sold for $550 a week ago. I just got a chance to use it and man am I glad I got it. My credit card is hurting but I'm cruising around loving how it paddles.

You are correct about the rudder however anybody with a little skill to fabricate a mount can make it happen.
Basically the Scupper pro used the old (3 models ago) style rudder blade mounting bracket. This model was the one with the Hole in it. Because Ocean now uses a bracket that bolts into the stern they simply filled the hole that used to be on the SPTW.
You could fairly easily make a mount on the stern of the kayak though. Would just involve some shimming and maybe welding of the kayak.Or just some nice bends and a bolt system. I am pretty sure that with enough interest I can make some up, and Since I am a dealer I have the boats to try it on too.
Hello Guys,
What do you think about Perception Prism?
Does it fit our North Cal needs?
Thanks

It is supposed to sit lower in the water than the scupper pro and is a few inches shorter. This is good in the wind, but you may have problems with flooding the hatches. I think the max weight is about 350 the scupper pro is 350-400. It would probably be ok for freediving but would be over loaded if you were taking scuba stuff or filled it with fish and abs.

Try a SpearBoard Forum search for Prism. I think it may also have been an Aquaterra Prism. I have seen them on CraigsList pretty cheap.
