Moving to Perth in 3.5 weeks. I need to ship my belongings and was wondering if it is worth shipping my tanks. What type of valves do you typically see? I would assume the DIN valves, which would suck for me.

Tank regulations and inspections in Australia differ considerably from the US rules. Due to the way the regulations are written Aussie approved tanks are NOT testable in the US. I expect DOT&TC stamped tanks may suffer a similar fate in Australia. In any case check the rules through the Australian consulate before shipping scrap aluminum or steel halfway around the world. Typically it's best to sell tanks where they are known good, and replace with tanks known good at the destination.

Thanks for the heads up. I will probably leave my tanks with some friends. And buy new ones when I get there.
