View Full Version : sling with slip tip?

I was thinking about the slings I use, and how to improve them.

Often with bigger fish, the sling just doesn't keep the fish, it either pries itself off, or it just swims away with the shaft.

It got me thinking...what about a smaller, lighter, faster shaft with a slip tip? And the shaft could be connected to the sling with a line? That way you wouldn't lose the fish and you'd have more range and speed with the lighter faster shaft?

Anyone else try this? I think it could increase range to 20+ feet fairly easily, and with a gatku or sea stinger slip tip could hold the fish quite easily.

most slip tips are to heavy for the long often very light shafts used in slings so your accuracy would be ruined. i tried conecting a 12ft peice of line to my sling handle for big fish and it ended up constantly geting in the way and was not worth the hassle. if you do find a way to stor the shooting line tho so it doesnt get in the way go for it:thumps:

you would lose shafts left and right
