Hey guys. I am about to buy a pole spear (6ft) for the low vis days. I was looking at JBL and ray Odors. Any advise on how I can get one cheap or even make one?

you could get a fiberglass one. my lds has them for like $30. i have one and it works good enough on small fish.

It is actually alot easier than one may think. I just got a 1/2 inch anodized aluminum tube from a metal supply place. Then i got a brass tube that was threaded one one end about 6 inches or so(stainless is the best) and made sure that it would make a very snug fit into one end of the pole. If you can't find one that it the exact size to fit inside, then get a little bit bigger and file down the sides but keep checkkin it fits cuz you don't want to file too much. take the threaded cap of your smaller tube and drill a hole in the center. then stick whatever threaded size you want in it and bolt it through. stick the smaller tube into your pole spear and drill a hole straight through both and bolt it for security. This may all sound complicated but its not. If you need a pic let me know. fill the pole with foam and your basically done......... Cheers, Simon

I know a couple guys on here made polespears out of old golf clubs. If you search around you should be able to find the thread.

If you have a Tap Plastics near you try a 1/2 OD 6' fiberglass rod as a shaft and make your own paralyzer tip.

Bout as cheap as it gets
