FWC SCHEDULES PUBLIC WORKSHOP ON MARINE LIFE FISHERY
February 25, 2004
CONTACT: Lee Schlesinger (850) 487-0554
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has scheduled a public workshop in Tampa regarding the live-collection marine life fishery. The Commission is interested in receiving input on limited-entry options for commercial fishers holding a marine life endorsement and on other recommended changes to rules regarding the collection of live marine species.
The FWC encourages all interested persons to participate in the workshop, which will take place Thursday, March 18 from 7-9 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel Tampa Westshore, Conference Center Entrance, Birchwood Room/Timberwood Room, 4500 West Cypress St. in Tampa.
Anyone requiring special accommodations to participate in the workshop should advise the agency at least five calendar days before the workshop by contacting the FWC coordinator at (850) 488-6411. Hearing- or speech-impaired persons should contact the agency by calling (850) 488-9542 to arrange assistance.
Previously announced public workshops regarding the marine life fishery were scheduled for Feb. 25 in Key Largo and Feb. 26 in Marathon.

my boss is at the meeting in largo tonight.

none of this effects recreational collectors. what it is about is the moratorium on the marine life endorsment. there are only 100 out there and every 5 years, the holders vote if they should issue more. of course they always vote no as they probably should.
I do not have a ml endorsment, but I work a corporation owned one. My boss has held his since they first gave them out in the early '90's.

i collect dinner, and then come home every day and taunt the lobsters with ever impending doom.

How big do they have to get before you eat them? Some of them look like they are asking for it.
