Fire Closes Freeway
Interstate 5 is closed from Cristianitos Road in San Clemente to Highway 78 in Oceanside, due to the fires. It was closed at 11:38 this morning and will remain closed until further notice. Here’s an update from Camp Pendleton, as of 12:08 p.m.:
There is a five acre fire adjacent to the I-5, in the vicinity of the DeLuz Tank park. Camp Pendleton Fire is currently fighting the fire with one type one engine and five brush trucks. The Las Pulgas gate remains closed at this time. Las Pulgas Road is closed from the gate east to Fire Station 6. Stuart Mesa Road is closed from the Las Pulgas intersection south to Aliso Creek. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
