Announcing the taking of registrations for the first ever annual Key Largo Beach Blue Storm Open!

Now that the Palm Beach Blue Storm Open is over and successful, the timing is good to roll out episode three of the Blue Storm Series - "THE FINAL CONFLICT!"

There are only 17 days until the forces converge on Key Largo.

With great lessons learned in Palm Beach, we search extensively and found an amazing new air-conditioned venue in Key Largo near mile marker 103.

I think you will like the newly chosen air-conditioned venue and the timetable as follows:

The rules and format are essentially the same as the Spearboard Open and therefore you can hunt anywhere in the Southeastern USA that you can drive your catch in by car or truck.

As many people realize, it was a bold move to try and launch three large televised spearfishing tournaments in one year. But, we had to have at least three events in order to have a series. Now, the final conflict is in sight and one of the best aspects of it is learning where everyone that competed in the first two events ranks going into the final stretch. :cool:

At the Key Largo Open (KLO) after the awards ceremony for the KLO winners, we will be awarding trophies for the top three overall series aggregate scores, best freediver, best female, best junior, best boat and largest fish in each of the five fish categories. That is a several thousand dollars in glass alone! :eek:

We will also be awarding a separate prize table for the top twenty Overall series Aggregate Score Winners! Thus, there will be great prizes for all the KLO winners and the Overall Series Top 20 Winners. :thumps:

The Overall Series Rankings are quite interesting. Here are just a few observations.

- First and second position pit well-known scuba hunter Rob Harding against well-known freedive hunter Chad Palan.

- Freedivers and scuba divers are scattered through the rankings since the aggregate scoring format enables both styles of hunting to do well.

- Many shooters who only shot one blue storm event are poised to end up in the top 20 of the overall aggregate scoring which will get them to that special prize table. For example, Len Pepe or Ricky Hampton have pretty good chances to finish well in the overall series as do many other single event shooters.
