Do you use the Manny Puig float line technique?

I use the floatline attached to the sling and at the end of the spear.
One thing that has helped me is to have the floatline as close to the sling as possible. The below set-up worked but the rope that connected the floatline to the sling was too long. I spent a lot of wasted time un-tangling and repositioning.
My 5/8" and 3/4" spears have two 3/8" holes at the end of the spears. I did this for those that want to tie their own "Manny Knot" and the rear hole can be used for floatline attachment.

I use a small soft loop of rope around the polespear rubber. Attached to that is 4-6 feet of #400 mono shooting line, then the float line. That way there's less drag from the rope and you don't really have to hold the line in your hand when cocking. Does that make sense? I'll try to find a pic.
