Mayor Island Nov 8

We had a great trip out to Mayor Island, 20 miles offshore of Tauronga, NZ. Not too much big fish action, but enough going on to fill the fridge a few times over. I got to test out my new 115 (see all about guns section) and it was dead-nutz laser beam style. That's a new speargun term for you folks not in the know.

Josh got his first snapper and it was a dandy. Clear water, fishy, good times.

Mayor is an old volcano - check out the obsidian layers in the rocks. Way cool.

I forgot all about the seal! I swam around with a seal for about half an hour. It was pretty awesome, just dropped the gun and he followed me around, twisting and twirling and coming right up to me.

Ha! I have no clue - only my second time there. Kane got a few tips from Graeme Leitch and we just hit up what the wind would allow.

Mayor is sweet! I used to work on a dolphin tour boat and it always rocked when we got to take our people swimming out that ways.
