East Burma 1823… Thirteen-year old Hung Lo has just “scored”. Although she was older, he was still able to make an “impact”;) . To celebrate, Hung, has just planted a teak tree. His hope is to someday bask underneath its shadow while sipping on green tea and simultaneously being the recipient of therapeutic fellatio:D. Little does Hung know that someday the teak from this tree will be used to build a custom made speargun that will inflict the ultimate price on some tasty Florida fish.

Nearly two centuries later…Spearoo (El Maricon de Playa :D ) has recently received his custom made Wong speargun. Although he paid $19,238.78:p , he feels it will still be worth the second mortgage he had to take out on his apartment. The fish grim reaper was disguised as a Venezuelan herb garden grower on Sunday (March 8th). JC put a killing on the fish, taking down a big grove, mutton and yellow jack. His partner in crime, Deepdown (El Maricon de Curaçao :D ) nailed a few nice size snappers as well. Deepdown, uses the Wong hybrid ($12,348.98), which is appropriate for him, as he too is a hybrid, we’re still trying to figure out which “side of the fence” he truly resides on :confused: . I took home a grouper and nice sized Miami hogfish.

Somewhere in Nirvana, Hung Lo is chilling with a broad smile on his mug!

And now for the anal retentive;
Seas: 2-3 feet, viz (deep reefs, top to bottom: shallow reefs, 15 feet)
Most fish taken in 45 feet while freediving.
Total Catch: 1 Mutton, 3 Groves, 1 Yellow Jack, 1 Hog, 1 Red Grouper.
No Blacks in sight, several Ceros, not much else. Everything we saw of considerable size made it to the cooler.

Other highlights, the marine patrol at the Marina was measuring everyones incoming fish (So be careful what you bring in). After, they were done with us we overheard them tell all the other anglers that "Those spearfishermen over there have caught the most fish all day". Feels good to out fish the hook and liner.

Picture: JC (Spearoo) and Gerald (Deepdown). Although, they look gayish (especially deepdown with the towel around his waist), they're cool cats and a pleasure to hunt with.

Enjoy,

That is the funniest thing I've read in a while. You must have been thinking about that for a while! Good fish. BTW, I have my Wong zeroed now. It is worth the $20,000.

Man, that's not a towel, it's a sarong! Since I am the reincarnation of Hung Lo, aka Hung well, I only thought it appropriate to honor the past by wearing native garments. Good post RJ.

Perhaps Spearooo can contact the descendants of Hung Lo to arrange for a ricksha ride to Steinhatchee for his MG trip the weekend after next. It seems modern age transportation almost left him at the dock last trip :D .

RJ, when are you going to finally make the plunge, and let another fellow Cuban take you to the Holy Grail of Florida steelslinging that is the Middle Grounds? Fellow Miami Hispanics Spearooo, and JC Action have already have had the epiphany. Even Mushkee is soon to receive the blessed sacrament this summer. We'll keep the Bustelo hot for you, and las velas a San Lazaro encendido.... or are you more Shango kind of dude?

Yep, seems like some of the once hardcore freedivers are "jumping the fence"...I suppose we all have a feminine side:D (Just kidding, don't have a cow scuba shooters!). Even Blake from Lutz was bubble blowing this past weekend:rolleyes:

Lost my San Lazaro gold chain in a fist fight in 84' started to worship Chango and Elegua, but all the neighbors started complaining about the chickens and my goats started to look too sexy, so now I worship San Martin De Porres;

San Martin was one smooth Dominican Friary lay-brother in 16th century Lima, Peru. He reportedly acquired the powers of flight and bilocation thru divine intervention as well as the ability to control vermin to do his every bidding. He also had the power to "convert" elderly bearded non-Christian caucasian men with his ebony man-snake, and is widely regarded as the patron saint of freedivers.
