Question about the meeting in sac 12-12-08

Question about the meeting in sac 12-12-08 reguarding the MLPA on the north coast. I was wondering if any one could fill me in on what went on reguarding the abalone diving on the sonoma coast ? any inseight and info would be greatly appreciated, I would have ben there my self but with money tight and X-mas comiing had to work, so I could make that dollar. So please share your experince and thoughts if you where there. Thanks.:cowboy:

Matt, a lot happened and I am going to write up a report today - bottom line, the Monterey Tritons, NorCal Dive Club and Dolphin Divers from Sacramento all contributed to a huge turnout that allowed us to get time to give a 1/2 hour presentation to the Commission about the abalone issue.

The California Fish & Game Commission will put the issue of our requested changes on their agenda for the February meeting. So you get another opportunity to show up and voice your concerns!

It's well worth watching! It begins with a discussion of the DFG's new automated licensing system, and then there is a discussion of the listing of the pacific fisher on the CESA. Then about 9am they allowed me and Milo from SCAN to begin our presentation. The following discussion by the Commissioners was the best they have had so far...
