Alright guys I need a little help with this one. It came up the other day and there was a difference of opinion on limits, so I figured I would ask and see if anybody had it in black and white for me.
I even called a local DNR Ranger here and he didn't even know what the limits were!!!

I think we are covered by federal rules but all I found over there was american lobsters.

SAFMC(Federal) lobster regs for NC, SC, and GA are; 2 per person per day, No Closed Season, No Egg Bearing and No Sticking.

Spearit nailed it. 2 per person may not sound like much but when the lobbies are this big its plenty.

Reading your query for bag limits has brought up an idea. Is there anywhere on the Internet a single site that lists the size and bag limits on what we hunt for? I know that it would be a daunting task to keep it accurate with the changes that occur annually on every species, but it would be a tremendous help for all if it could be created and updated. It would not even have to be maintained by a single person if we all take time to research our individual States and areas. By setting up a separate forum to post any changes that we find, as long as they can be confirmed as most State and Federal agencies do post on their respective sites the changes they make. And as long as we post a caveat that what is posted needs to be verified by the individual locally, we can supply this information without risk of liability. For an example see this page:

http://www.scubanj.org/Lobster_reg_02.html

Notice the reference to a NJ State Fish and Wildlife document. Although page is in need of an update, all the information there has been verified and is still accurate.

As we are witnessing in this forum people are interested in getting involved in protecting their sport form overzealous management, commercial and environmental fanatics who would just as soon not have our presence in the fishery let alone our participation in the regulatory process. By creating and maintaining a “clearing house” of accurate information on size and bag limits we can draw in others who use the site for reference who might be interested in helping.

Just looked at the page. Great idea, NJ! Perhaps we could do a summary table by state, with a direct link to the state's current website.
While we are at it, we could include a link to the states Fishing License system. Our page would not have to give all the details, just the reference links to each particular website.
