A month ago I got stuck in the sand getting to where I wanted to launch (I know, buy a 4x4. I have one but I don't want to beat it up with kayak, gear, salt,& sand yet). I've always heard about bagging the tires but that has never worked for me. I'd go from 40 psi to twenty on my back tires and still be stuck. I found a good article on what I was doing wrong. http://www.4x4now.com/sfjun96.htm I went back out and got stuck in some deep soft stuff to test the new technique. I bagged down to 12 psi on all four tires and drove out like it was nothing:thumps:. Then I used my tank to air the tires back up.

Just a suggestion, but a kayak cart will get you and your yak and all gear to and from the waters edge even in very soft beach sand. I use a modified Hobie cart, pull into the beach parking lot, off load the yak, put ALL my divin/spearin gear down inside my yak, lock up the pu and roll the 200yd to the water=done.
I yak/beach entry several times a week solo. Let me know if I can help further
Hope this helps

Yeah, I've considered those. But I'm lazy ;), and enjoy the convenience of driving to the spot instead of pulling heavy gear long distances through soft sand.
Especially with winter diving, I use SCUBA (very low vis).
