View Full Version : this JBL got GAT-KU'd!

this 6' came in after falling out of a truck on the freeway. It was run over a couple times before it was recovered. Needless to say, it either needed some work or it was going in the trash.

I ground off the male 6mm thread as it was no longer useable. I dreamed a hole in a GAT-KU adapter big enough for the stainless rod to slip fit into, epoxied the two together, installed a new band, and a custom shrink-wrap grip.

Its not a GAT-KU, but it sure was fun turning something that was going to the trash into fully-functional polespear.

The customer sent me some pics, I thought I'd pass em along.

Nice job Dustin. I have a JBL spear here that I'm adding a weighted rear section to add mass and one of my paralyzers as well.

Is that a Gat-ku paralyzer just spread out?

I Gat-kued one of my blue water pole spears by adding the carbon fiber shaft and front end to one of my large diameter poles. It is working great. I will show you at the pole spear workshop at the BlueWild.

they actually work best spread out an inch or so in diameter.
