I am chartering a 76' luxury yacht,.. fully staffed with captain, chef, waitstaff for June 09 for 1 week of cruising, diving, general hangin out and loving life in the San Juan islands... Schedule and destinations wide open per our whim. Cost to each diver is $1500.00 This is all inclusive! All you can eat, drink, air, yacht expenses etc. all included!.... Only additional expence would be any tips you would want to give the crew. Bring your spearguns as the chef will cook up anything we kill! There is a 7000 sq in freezer on board to keep our catch fresh.....
There is room for 8 divers with cabins,.. more if you want to sleeping bag or cot it.....

Drop me a line if your interested.....

As a matter of fact Phi,... Yes,.. I will be hiring a Captain and Chef/steward.. to man the yacht for the upcoming summer....

The event I speak of will be the maiden voyage of the ship,.. with a new captain and crew.... Hence the cut rate deal.... I thought it might be fun to organize a local event for the first trip.....

Very interested! Do you have room for 2? What is the rate for non fishing members i.e. spouses? Any chance of getting into Canadian waters the boundary is right down the middle of the Straight of Juan de Fuca and regulations are better on our side + we know all the spots.
+ have my 60 ton and know my way around the waters very well/would crew handily.

Ling cod open June first in most areas up here. Nice date choice!

Hey beaver,..

We can go whereever we wish,...I know the owner...:thumps:,.. I had not thought about non diving spouces to tell you the truth,.. It is more of a space on board the yacht issue,.. primarily sleeping arrangements....but there are still 6 spots available....

Its going to be a great week!

Is there going to be any fishing for halibut/salmon?...Would be nice to hook (or spear) a 100+ pounder pacific halibut....
VicT.

PS..What are the exact dates?

Fishing and spearing is pretty damned restricted up in the San Juans. Lingcod will be open (spearing season is only three weeks out of the year May 21st through June 15). Rockfish is closed to all spearfishing the entire year in the Puget Sound, which includes the San Juan Islands. So, for cooler fillin' I would count on salmon fishing, which again is off limits to spear. Halibut is super restricted but I don't know the season as it usually is dependent on quotas. Drag, drag and drag I know but that is the reality of spearfishing up here. BTW, we freedive in 7mm suits all year. Just need a good freediving suit that fits.

The exact dates will coincide with the opening of Ling cod season,... Im not sure of the regulations in Canada, but as beaver said,.. we can cross over into Canuk waters where the regulations are far more lenient. As the vessel will be completely self sufficient, there will not be a need to go to port for the entire week, so we are only limited in our destinations by our own imagination...

I am looking to get a group together, and then make a general consensis of places the group would like to visit, dive, spear, etc... and then make a plan...

And yes,...the boat is fully rigged for Salmon, halibut, whatever,...

Hey Beaver,

How does it work for Non-Canadian citizens to get an out of "country" fishing liscence to spear in Canadian waters? Can it be done online? Do you have to come ashore to purchase the liscence?

Any info you may have on this subject would be very helpful for the trip.

Update,..Things are looking even better,.. I have made my purchase .....Different yacht though.... The new girl is a 97'er! She has a cockpit over 28' x17'10" . Thats the open part of the boat in the back for those that are unfamiliar with boats....She could easily accomidate up to 30 divers, however for our weekend/week long liveaboard trips, the number will be held at 10 divers + crew.... She has a walk through transom to the 6' x17'10" swimdeck. She will come complete with 4 staterooms and 5 heads. She has brand new Caterpillar diesels with double gensets for security and comfort. Complete with the most up to date color, bottom maping sonar system for locating features, wrecks, etc underwater....She will be fitted with a HP air filling station along with Nitrox availability. Did I mention the hottub? :thumps:She also has a 18' boston whaler for fishing, general running around and close to shore diving expeditions, along with two Jetskiis for anyone wanting to go play. She has over 40' of open deck space topside for any of you gals that feel the need to get in some bikini time on the loungers....Ok,.. you fellas can too,..but ya gotta leave the bikinis behind!
This boat will soon be the premier luxury liveaboard charter in the NW. Weekly trips into the san juans, desolation sound, even up the inside passage to Alaska will hopefully begin as soon as April 1. She has a range of over 5000 miles so there will never be a need to go to port for refueling once underway. Remember, these will be all inclusive trips including a great chef and a generous menu and full bar. I am flying out to close the deal this weekend, and should have some photos to share on Monday....
I look forward to having many of you onboard.

Sorry so long in reply my business is going insanely busy and wife is due in the next few days so busy times.

Here is a link to licensing for fishing in canada you may be able to aquire a license online without setting foot in Canada, I didnt read the rules closely for non residents.

let me know if parameters for the trip have changed re spouses. My dive buddy and I each have wives so having them along would be almost madatory to make it work. the flip side is it will be $6000 but what the heck you only live 1 or if you are hindu many times
