What kind of boat are you using ?
>
Over the years I have seen the local trend change a bit.
In the past it was often times a fiberglas tri hull, for stability.
Now there seems to be a definite lean toward a large Jon Boat with a medium size motor, a tall bimini top and a good ladder / boarding system.

Post a photo of your boat, or one you think would work well in freshwater.

Jeffe,

Is that the aluminum deck boat?? There are some freshwater boats in the thread about posting a pic of your boat...

I am still looking for a project in the 20-25ft range center console. With a baby on the way mom said no to just going out and buying what I want.

Prater , Yep it's the 21' aluminum. The things I like least about it are:
Side console
Bimini top, not Tee top
No bow flare, resulting in spray in the cockpit from swells at speed
No radar arch / tow pylon
>
I bought this one new in 2001, and it has withstood my particular brand of punishment pretty well, and hauls lots of divers and equipment at speed.
It will throw a bitchin' wake with a small amount of trim adjustment, but because of weight and size to horsepower ratio, 195hp, it doesn't just snap the boarder out of the water.
I am really impressed with how quiet it is, however.
Them ol' classic rock tunes can be herd at speed.

I have a buddy that ski's his 175 unmercifully and it seems to do him a good job. Which engine do you have ?
Who is that deckhand up on the fore deck ?
Have you got him working in the anchor locker ?

Production of the 175 was moved south of the boarder for 2003+ the only engine available or approved is the 3.0 mercruser (135 horse 4 banger). That is Captin Kaleb on the fore deck he is almost 3 and wishes we lived on the boat.
