Here's a few you would probably enjoy reading. All are available through Amazon.com

"The Helldivers Rodeo" by Humberto Fontova- The tale of spearfishing tournament of the book's title. Along the way it details the divers, game fish, and history of Lousiana oil rig diving. These guys are extreme, and was a motivater in myself and Financial Advis geting the ball rolling on putting a trip together up there this upcoming Spring.

"The Last of the Bluewater Hunters" by Carlos Eyles- A classic! Tale of the author's solo spearfishing trip to Catalina. Along the way it goes into the early beginnings of spearfishing as well as the author's adventures in the Sea of Cortez.

"The Blue Edge" by Carlos Eyles- The author's expedition to remote archipelagos in the Sea of Cortez.

"Blue Water Hunting and Freediving" by Terry Maas- Mainly an instructional how-to on pelagic breath hold hunting. It does have some awesome pictures, and some pretty cool spearfishing stories.

Post any other books on spearfishing you've read, I'd love to check them out. With El Nino raging, I'm definitely not doing as much diving as I would like, at least reading about it is an OK substitue. I've been contemplating, albeit usually over multiple fermented wheat elixers, perhaps putting together the chronicles of my own West Coast Florida diving experiences, and telling the tale of our own dive legends and forefathers, spearfishing the Middlegrounds etc.. Oh well, back to the Packers-Falcons game.

i read that "helldivers rodeo", and i loved it. i cant wait when (and if) i go to alabama for college. i have a friend over there that said i could do some spearfishing over there, and if i was really up to it, rig diving. the friend of mine is an ex-army rescue diver, and master diver who loves to spearfish. oh yeah, not to forget the fact that he posses the biggest nut sack known to mankind.

dothanfrogman,
Good water varies from time of year and how much rain we have had.
We do one that is 60fsw called the triple rig there are shallower ones than that but most of the time no vis on anything closer in. The deeper ones have more consistant good vis.
Remember the dive starts at the surface no matter how deep of water the rigs in.
