I haven't seen any yellows or whites, but we have been spotting huge numbers of orange sea bass up in the Laguna area. They are just out of reach for my long iron, but I'll get one soon.

Do you have a Mexican fishing permit? Give me a couple more weeks and the boat will be ready for a trip. It's only like 20 miles right?
I'll have to go get the Mexi permits for the vessel and myself, then we can go.

Warmer waters should be here any time.
A year ago we were near the south Island and we had Makos near us. I haven't been back since. :)

I'm not sure what they are called, but they taste like a mix between Manatee and Bald Eagle. Fantastic!

I thought it was more like a mix between grey whale and spotted owl! :D ;)

Just wondering,

I have built a gun the same size as a riffe hawaii(3band)-Is that suitible for hunting white seabass and yellows? I really want to shoot one of those fish this year. I have a bit of experience with smaller reef fish, but none with the bigger deep water ones. If anyone is willing to take a newbe, I'll happly pitch in for gas and or drive up north to OC.

thanks!

Theres no need to drive up north to oc, Holy. There huge whites in La Jolla. this weekend i saw a spearo bring in a 45-50lb. white. Fatty! The yellows are even in out here. Talked to a kayakfisher and he roped 2 this week. We of course didnt see anything but we're still trying. If you want to head out locally hit me up.
