Got out this morning early with Mike (calico spearo). Viz was awesome 15 to 20 feet, not surgy, and a ton of life out there. I saw some monster Calico's and 1 MASSIVE sheephead, easily 25#.
I'm laying on the surface gutting a sandbass that I had just shot when this MONSTER sheephead comes in and starts feeding on the stomache insides and gills from my sandbass. This goat was not scared of human contact, I let go of the bass for one second to find my stringer and that's when the goat comes within arms reach of me and swoops my sandy!!! I just sat there in awe watching this monster sheephead chomp down my dinner! I'll be back for him tomorrow!
Get out there if you can viz is great and the life is out. I didn't come home with any dinner cause it got jacked by a fish, but I did find a trophy sock and plastic cup for the trash can. I spent most of my time looking for trash but saw way more quality fish. It was a great day to just enjoy the amount of life that was out there.
