Can someone tell me the best size rubber for replacing the band on a hawaiian/bahama sling (Inner and Outer Diameter)? I have ordered a few types, but I haven't found one with the right power. Any links to websites selling the tubing would be great. I need quite a bit of it.

Thanks.

My theory is that you want bands that are as strong as possible but so that you're still able pull them back fully and hold in the 'cocked' position for 20 ~ 30 seconds.

I went to a medical supply place and found that they offered a large variety of sizes and thicknesses, so I just experimented until I found a good match.

Another possible resource are the exercise bands that are sold in sporting goods places or even Walmart.

I would use the 1/2" black band material that is used for spearguns. It has a thick wall and a very small hole in the middle.

Hi John,
I go along with what OceanEd says.

We have a selection of the 1/2" OD tubing in both amber and black.
4 * different sizes including the 3/16" Wall & 1/8" ID that Steve recommends.

It is a hard pull though and is the same tubing we use on our beefed up version of our FF Black Max Hawaiian Sling.

Best to call the shop at (561) 848-0678 as I am not sure if all the tubing is on the website.

Regards,
Mike
