Ok, so I have this gun and it's loaded with a 3/8 shaft and cable shooting line. I shot it at a yellowtail and it dodged it. Heres the thing. I only put 3 5/8s bands on it at the time. First, what bands do you guys recommend for that weight of shaft? Aso and probably more importantly has anyone ever gone smaller with the shaft? I have a 5/16 shaft that fits in the trigger mech, but don't know if it is recommended to shoot it and if so has anyone ever done that with this particular gun?Keep in mind this gun was givin to me and I havent had a lot of time to experment with it because I always carry my 60in enclosed track Alexander and know that it works. Thanks for your time reading and for those of you who may respond, Ben

A 5/16 shaft should work great in that gun with the current band setup. You also might want to check the stretch ratio on the bands - are they tight? Are the bands fresh? Even with a 3/8 shaft, your 3 5/8 bands should shoot it pretty well. You could always add a fourth 5/8 band and see how it works with the 3/8 shaft.
A 63" Alexander shooting a 3/8 shaft with 4 5/8 bands is overkill for yellowtail in my opinion. Your 60" gun shooting a 5/16 shaft and 3 5/8 bands should have more than enough punch.

I had one, Mori sold it to me,with a 72 inch 3/8 shaft.
I like it with 4-5 , 9/16 bands, 32 inch long. I really like it
this way, they were Moris bands.
I also used it with a 3/8 65 inch ,and a 5/16 ,65 inch shaft, same bands.

I've shot an 11/32 shaft with four average lenght 5/8 and it seemed slow compared to my other guns. What I have been doing lately is switching over to mori's 15mm bands. They really seem to zing a band out there compared to a thud. They are also easier to load and you can fit more ( a little) than 5/8. It might be all in my imagination but they seem to be a big difference. When your used to 5/16 and 9/32 shafts a 3/8 will look slow with 3 5/8.
