View Full Version : 1/6 Seb report

Decided to give it a try on 1/6 out of SI. Dove with Look Out Below, Jethro and Bad English on Russ's boat. Came out of the inlet to find the seas to 6' and a N wind gusting 15 to 20 and air temperature around 40:rolleyes:. Had a heck of a time finding the ledges. Vis was fair, but snot and algae everywhere up top. Fish just were'nt around. Did three hard dives and got a total of about 14 bugs but only 1 nice Mango. I only saw 1 possible shooter grouper. Full report and pics on FS

Nice diving with you DF! Maybe next time it won't be as rough...:(
01-07-2003, 01:16 PM
Next time I bring the dive scooter just to keep up with yer azz:D. Don't think we could have worked any harder for those bugs.

I had a good time even if I was having a difficult time with them bugs. Thanx for the good time and friends. I am for going on a nice flat day real soon.

Thanks for the report. Hey, what the hell, sounds like you guys took some nice bugs! I want to see a photo or two of you guys boiling those bastards. You guys ever get together after a day on the water and drink beer and get a big pot of boiling water. That would be a good time.

Always drink beer! But the boilong thing, never!!! To tired and I either barbecue, deep fry, make casseroles or mount them...:D
Lobster mounting one o one coming up.;) Just have to do the finishing touches and it's done.
01-08-2003, 08:27 AM
Don't you get sore trying to "mount up" on one of those big lobsters??:D :D :D
Check out the cool Spearboard hat I'm sporting on that picture:cool:

I was thinking we have a bash or campout party somewhere at Sebastian Inlet or Long Point Campground. You guys could come over here, we'll do a day of slaying and lobster pulling, and we'll drink and eat afterwards....think about it.
You'll find the spearfishing isn't as good as the MG, but you'll see more bugs you can shake a stick at...
01-08-2003, 05:23 PM
That sounds really good. How much time do we have before the lobster season ends over here? I'd be stoked about a trip like that!

March 30 th!!!
I have room for 4 total on my boat...
I'd even cook my Buffulo Lobster Nuggets.:D
So when are we doing it???
01-08-2003, 08:49 PM
I want to play!
I'm sure seastalker is up for it. A weekend bash sounds good.
Friday night get together, Dive Sat, Drink Sat pm & camp, Fire pit, 8 lb bugs, slabs of grouper, back to reality on Sunday pm.
Spearboard Tournament ? I can smell it!

What do you guys think about Saturday, March 8th.
I can talk to John Hermes about trailering his 23 foot Mako, so maybe we can put a couple of boats on this.
01-09-2003, 08:03 PM
Sounds like a good date...I'll talk to my buddies over here. Slayfest/drinkfest:D
Better get a keg of pepsi for LOB:D
01-10-2003, 07:31 AM
What, is LOB on the wagon?
If John still has his Mako he is up for trailering. If not, we can probably find someone with a trailerable boat. It sounds like we'll need at least two.
01-10-2003, 07:39 AM
Yep...LOB's been trying to "dry out" for years:D :D :D
01-10-2003, 08:05 AM
You know I'm in....I'm sure I can round up a few other boats...
Lee how about that Pursuit
Mickey how about that Shamrock
Dave and your HydroSport
I'm sure we would have more boats than divers so some of the other west coast guys could just jump in a boat.......
01-10-2003, 08:13 AM
No boat, but I'd be up for joining the slayfest.
01-10-2003, 10:37 AM
I don't have a boat but I might talk my buddy into it...any which way I'm down...

I would like to join LOB on his boat but I do have a boat with room for 4 incase another boat is needed.
01-10-2003, 03:58 PM
Talked to some of my buddies today....they're in. Now let's pray for good weather....would hate to have to drink all weekend:D
01-10-2003, 04:17 PM
sounds like a blast.havent seen jethro since scallop season last year in crystal river, also be good to meet some other members.have boat and camping gear and will travel
01-14-2003, 08:12 AM
If the weather is managable, I would be willing to drag my 26' Shamrock over to this drink & dive event. ;)
01-14-2003, 06:13 PM
Sounds like the beginnings of a throw-down, pig roasting, beer guzzling, gunnel hunching, fish and lob slaying festival to me!!!!
01-15-2003, 08:40 AM
If we're going to do this, we got to get the reservations at Long Point pretty soon. I'm sure we can put 2 tents on a campsite.
This could a major drinkfest/bloodfest.
01-15-2003, 11:27 AM
tents???? don't they have an areas we can rent hotel/motel rooms. After sending 12 hours on the water not much on setting up camp.......
01-15-2003, 11:57 AM
Let me officially invite myself. How about a little calcutta tourney for big fish/bug. I will begin preparing myself for the massive upside down keg stands, beer funnels, and Cuervo shots which will ensue apres-slaying. First one to spew out a technicolor yawn (AKA- liquid laughter, barking at the ants, esophagal pressure washer) buys the next keg.
I hope this materializes because this will be one hell of a party. I don't care where I sleep, I won't be able to feel anything anyway. :D
SeaStalker - just tilt the seat back and take a snooze in your car or better yet sleep on the deck of your boat with the COOLER's of fish/bugs.
I'm first in line for the beer funnel....... after D4B gets done doing his thing. :o

Talked to bristolxyz at Sea Dog diver out of NSB....said that they are having a tournament during that time in March. Sea Dog is over an hour away from SI, but it would be cool to do a Spearbaord domination:D
