I have some questions for those that attended the public meeting on Tuesday.
How many spearos showed up?
How much support was there for each proposal, did Proposal C have an overwhelming support?
Is there any other important information besides these new proposals that we should be aware of?
And same questions but for the Meeting on Wednesday .

Funny thing Daniel, the only external proposal that got any applause/ noted public support was the FIN network proposal. I spent the last 2 days at the MLPA meetings watching the RSG work sessions. There was a lot to be learned there. I will work up a report of the meeting today, and will post my observations of the process, and the guidance as soon as I get my brain unwound.

Paul and Daniel,
It should be noted that regulatory meetings are often not considered an appropriate forum for applause (or booing, which was also heard).
Of the attendees and representatives I spoke with privately, there was recognition of strengths and weaknesses in each of the external proposals. Where one may viewed as overreaching, another may be seen as insufficient.
Ultimately, if the parties are unable to agree on one set of areas, the decisions will be made for them. For all of us, let's hope that the appointed Stakeholder Representatives will be able to find enough common ground.

Lets see, there was Paul, Richard, Chip, Peter, Logan, Leo, myself and of course Terry and Eric at the meeting. The debriefing dinner featured the above plus Joe Farlo and Kelsey.
I don't remember anyone voicing explicit support over proposal C. There was some laughter at some of the zones in proposal C from the crowd. Some of which, I have to admit, was mine. It was so ridiculous that I couldn't stifle it in time. There were also alot of questions asked, by consumptive RSG members, about the proposal and it is my feeling that they did a pretty good job of poking holes in it. Some of the questions asked were met with a good 30 seconds of silence and then lots of umms and dodging.
There was plenty of support for the FIN proposal, A. Of course, this is the one that takes recs, commercials, divers, etc. into consideration. The UA proposal, B, received some support IIRC, but given the DFG directives regarding different bag/size limits in MPAs it will need some major revision to pass muster with enforcement. This one also makes no mention to spearfishing for anything.
