Well i just bought a yak for diving and now i am looking at the best Achor for it.
I have several mushroom achors around 15 to 20lbs. Would one of these work?

I dive off a Scupper Pro and just use a 5lb folding claw anchor. As long as you make sure it's set nice and strong you're all set. I'm sure it would work but a 15-20lb anchor just seems like more weight to be paddling around with and storing in the yak. If you look around you can get a small claw anchor for under $10.
Get about 7'-8' of chain for your anchor as well.

I have the same yak and and anchor as Jeeper, works great for me. Friends of mine use the traditional danforth too... What ever works for you...
You might consider an anchor trolley to control your position when anchored... Check out this youtube video

Just make sure you have enough bow in the line if you are diving on an incoming tide or the yak will pick it off the bottom.

A small folding anchor and 3ft of chain keeps my yak from moving. I also use a bungie cord to give my anchor line some flex with swells. Last year I only had to use the anchor on one trip before the kelp came in.
By the way, which kayak did you decide on?

For you? I'd use at least 50 lb of used tires and 100 feet of twisted up Saran wrap and six-pack beer can holders. And when you're done diving, you could just dump the beer cans, the tires, Saran wrap and just a handful of those toxic waste tire weights for good measure.
Make sure to set the anchor at least 7 feet short of the bottom and attach the other end to your right foot.

I just use an ol' car battery for my anchor on my kayak:beer:.

Ocean,
I can't remember for sure, but I thought you were from Calif. If so, make sure to get a kelp clip setup from Neptonics. Only one bad thing about using a kelp clip; you have to have kelp in order for it to work.:D. Everyone else gave the other good suggestions.

I use a container filled with sand or a bag filled with rocks or gravel. If it gets hung up and I can cut the line. Cheap easy safe and effective.

I bought an oc drifter. Nice boat seems to move real good at the lake. I puts ome duck tape on the scupper plugs to make them fit tight and its a dry ride. I am going with a 15 lb anchor, i want to be sure my boat is there after i am done hunting.

if your diving to the bottom, you can use a pice of pvc/Metal pipe, and jam it in between two rocks. This won't work if you cant go down to secure it
