Myself and two members of opposing teams in next weeks tourney, Screen Name and Bucket One along with aspiring shooter Sneaky Pete got together today for a short but fun trip before easter dinner was ready at moms house.
Vis was still extreme clear and I planned to go north but a solid fog bank was parked up there so we doubled back to the south and watched for rocks as we ran. Made 3 stops and shot 18 gags, 1 hog, a half dozen spanish macks, and Bucket freeshafted a 19 pound king with the assist going to Screen for finding it and hitting it with the line rig. Had a healthy bull shark give me the once over when I had 3 gags on my float rig stringer but I pulled the fish to me and he glided off. The gulf was slick calm when we headed back in around 1:30 and we were at the dock in 20 minutes. Couldnt have gone more perfect.
