I am looking for spearo's who spear out of OC, MD. I have never shot from there. I live in DC and since summer is coming I am looking for others in the area to shoot with. I don't have a boat but am happy to contribute to all the necessities.

What type of hunting is better around here? Blue water?

I have seen a few MD guys on the board- Triggerfish (we have already PM'd) Otter-B-Hunting, SeaWitch and MDSpear.

June w/ Spearit Charters will be tanks for us as ledges will start @ 90fsw fallin to 120 or so. Tom says he can put us on the big hogs & bugs. Check out his web site. cost is About $85 per day if we have 6, Theres a divers lodge @ marina for $40 a nite, Nitrox & air are close by. This looks to a good hunting trip w/in the budget. Only 7 hrs from Md.

I run from Carolina Beach which is right by Wilmington.
Wade, if you don't end up with 6, I will fill it from my Stand-by list.
I will take care of the Nitrox cert., no problem. I have a group from Columbia Scuba, Columbia, Md. this weekend doing wrecks, but we did hit a ledge today for the 2nd dive to check on bugs and the pickin's were slim(water was about 67deg). It needs to get a little over 70 and they'll be there. About 2 more weeks, unless we get some SE wind for a few days to push the Stream in. One of my mates did shoot this 18lb Hog on the ledge today. We're gonna do the Lobster Wreck tomorrow so there should be some Bugs there.

The 15th of May is booked by a group and they have also put a deposit on the 16th in case they want a 3rd day here. If not the 16th will be open for walk-ons or I'll just use as a scouting day for the SBO. Check www.spearitcharters.com for open dates.
Did 2 wreck dives today on the Lobster wreck and the Normania. Divers got 9 spineys there and mates shot a 17 and 10lb gag and a 17lb Hog. Lots of Bugs and Grouper there now. Also 1 Jewfish(maybe 150lbs) there. Got 1 Shovelnose on the Normania. Pics to follow.

Wilson and the Bugs.
When we left the Normania today, I saw something in the water and it was this Soccer ball. Floating 40 miles offshore, I guess it came off some freighter in the shipping lanes as we were close to them. The face was already on it.

Come on, Chris. You know those are just small ones, barely legal. Your spot for Sunday is set. Not sure where we're going but I have some ledges around the Lobster wreck that need to be looked at.

Check with Wade about a spot. He has the boat and I'll just fill in any spots for him if need be.

LMAO at the soccer ball. I thought Tom Hank's was rescued from that island on Cast Away. That ball is "Wilson," his buddy!! Classic! :D

Nice looking bugs and hogs.
