Check out the new boat that myself and our illustrious webmaster, Scott, took delivery on yesterday. It is a 2001 Sabalo 32 with a 315 Yanmar. We have all the goodies for the middlegrounds trips: 36NM radar, ICOM VHF, color BM, paper BM, Northstar DGPS, Loran, Life raft w/ twin EPIRBS, and a stereo, of course. We are just getting it set up now, but you will hear about trips in the future!!!

John, Are you going to charter it, or just take out friends?? that looks like a great boat for diving.. Is there a custom Dive Ladder on it?.. That is a great loran you have.. those older Sitex loran's are great models and are very accurate.. good luck with your new vessel, IM JELIOUS.... Let me know if you need any divers for it.. I know tons of experienced divers that always pay what ever it takes to go diving.. thanks.. Capt. Jay

The cruising speed of the boat is about 22-23 knots. For fuel and engine life reasons, we will probably slow the cruise speed down a bit on the MG runs, to say 18-19 knots. Still faster than any other boat making regular trips to the grounds. Top speed is about 28 knots. The boat will be based out of Port Richey, which makes our MG run as short as it can possibly be. The east side of the grounds is about 65NM away, the better stuff about 85.
One other thing, the fish box holds about 1000 #'s or more of ice.
Yes, we will be chartering in the future, so stay tuned.

You guys are my heros. Seriously. Sweet rig.
I would be happy to take up a spot on your trip. May I remind you, although I have not laid cable over the side of the boat before, I am willing to try if it will make me fit in.

Great boat guys, dont forget SS gunracks. There is an SS rack mounted astern on the engine box. You can barely see it in one of the photos. We need another rack, and some additional tank holders. There are currently holders for 14 tanks, so another 10 or so should do it.
Thanks for the comments about the boat!

That looks like a Suncoast Seals tournament point generation machine. I didn't realize that so many expert boat cleaners, or people who have vast databases of wealthly dive friends existed! :p
Hey, I hope you remember those "charter" guys that got you the Middlegrounds starter kit. I promise we'll keep the self powerheading activities limiited to no more than once a month.

Will work for beer.
Boat looks Great! Can I bring my hammock to sling between the cabin sides when you invite me to go to the grounds with you?
Don't forget sea tow membership. If you have it, you won't need it.It's a reverse Karma thing.

I guess I have been appointed the webmaster for the future website. As soon as Scott secures the domain name we should be in business!!

Congratulations on the purchase of your boat. Looks like the last owners did a good job of setting it up. Shouldn't take too much more to make it just what you want. I am sure it will make a great dive and fishing boat. The Yanmar will make running it affordable.
And best of all it already has a great name!

if you need a dive ladder call marine accessories by Peter Monopoli. He built a custom ladder for my cat boat that can't be beat. Just tell him what you are thinking and he can build it. You wont find a stronger ladder at a cheaper price anywhere. He is located in tarpon springs so he is close to you guys. Any questions about my ladder, give me a shout.

Looks like a great boat...at least with that yanmar, you shouldn't have to worry as much as per say if you had optimaxes:D
Dlock, funny thing you should mention the gunnel hunch, i figure thats one of the first things you should make sure the boat will accomodate!! I am sure you all will have some great times on that boat, it looks like a good one!
