The Mass DMF is proposing a limit of ten lobsters per day for noncommercial permit holders. Public hearings will be May 3 at Mass Maritime and May 4 at Gloucester High School, both at 7 PM. Attend and say something if you don't want this to pass.
Sure 10 lobsters wouldn't be bad, Right? Wrong! If this passes, next year the commercial interests will propose more restrictions on the recreationals to "help" the lobster population.
This proposal came up last year and was shot down due to a strong showing of divers at the meetings.
