Anyone spearfish out of South Padre Island?

I just moved to the area and want to see if I'm the only spearo this far South...:confused:

My buddy down there fishes and doesn't understand the spearfishing thing... but he has a friend with a nice boat, and it's great to get out.
You know any shops in the Houston area that can help me support my bad habit !

You are not alone. I am living on South Padre Island right now while I am working in Brownsville. Have you done any spearing yet? I have been working so much that I really havent had time.
Soon my job will be slowing down and I will have time maybe to hit the jetties after work and on the weekend.

Sorry, but I don't know any shops in the Houston area. I am new to Texas, plus I live 5 hours South of Houston in McAllen. If I hear of any shops though, I will let you know for sure.

Chicotrout good to have another texan on the board. I havent been to s padrey in many years, but I do get to port aransas numerus times a year and am planing to hit north padrey island this summer. If you ever think of comeing up the coast let me know by email my famely has a house on the island so thats no problem.

Hardcoretexan its good to see a post from ya I have been away from the board for some time now. Life has been crazy buizy sence I got my pipe certification. been working on getting a welding rig set up to do work on the side. I think things will slow down or I might have to make them slow down. Need to get down to port A to clear my head. Will you let me know when you will be headed back To port A?
