Just bought a Lowrance LMS 335C DF (GPS/Sounder) yesterday and a Standard Horizon Quest GX1255S (VHF radio).

I have a couple of questions:

1) What is the best way to install the transducer? On the transom or shoot-through hull? This is a new boat and I am trying to be carefull with installation.

2) Does anyone know or can recommend a good quality installer around the Boca Raton area? Someone that does quality work and charge reasonable fees?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Its pretty much a mater of prefrence. I prefer to shoot it through the hull, I've noticed that I get a much better picture that way. Now I have a Cat so I have to mount it on the transom. Just make sure you have a clean, dry surface and 5200 that sucker right down. Let is set up for a couple of days before taking it out.
