Any of you freshwater guys ever do any spearfishing in Michigan? My bro lives there and when he asked the Department of Natural Resouces guys about spearfishing while actually in the water they just gave him a stupid look. It's not addressed any where in the fishing regs. All they talk about is spearing through the ice. Any help would be appreciated. It'd be a great place to go they've got lakes all over hell there. If vis sucks in one drive 10-20 minutes to the next one. lol
thanks

tell your buddy to get a drysuit, it'll make the hunting alot easier to deal with. Here in colorado, it's a 2 bag limit on most species, but it varies res to res and lake to lake. It is stated in all our regs, types of fish and ways you can take them. I'd have him get in touch with wildlife management, that'll usually get it done.:D

I go to school up in Michigan and was looking to bring all my gear up there for the fall to do some spearfishing. When I started looking up the regs I saw that there are almost no fish legal to spear that I would actually want to. You can get carp, garrs and such. All the fish that I would have wanted like salmon and bass and such were illegal to spear.
