OK everyone. jeffe started a thread talking about fine catfish tablefare. The thread took a turn or two, and we started thinking about," The Great Freshwater Catfish & Bass Spearfishing Event".

A few jumped in and made sounds like they were interested. So, not to take anything away from jeffe, he said to start a new thread on it because I had some news concerning this get together.

To make a very long story even longer, I'll drop back and give the readers digest version:D

Last weekend I went to Destin area and dove a reef, a wreck, vortex, and meriam(sp) springs. We had a good time. This was my 13 year old son's first ocean dive. He did great! What a natural, made me a very proud poppa, worried as heck at first, soon to be relieved watching him snapping pictures with the little cheapie camera I bought him. Well, trying to keep this short, one of my diving buddies is a professional cameraman and he was taking footage of our dives, with my partner and instructor as the lead subject in the film. When I told him about the freshwater trip being put together, he got all excited and said let him join in too. He wants to film the event underwater, and above. So, I invited him along with a couple other friends.
Now, this is where I stop because I don't know how much I am supposed to say about him. I know, I know, whats so big about that. Well, I'll let him give out the information when and if we can all get together. There are several people I want him to meet on this board when we come back down to Florida, but I'm getting ahead of myself so lets just let it ride till we get together. Sorry for the suspense, I just don't want to say something out of place at this time. Believe me, it will be worth the wait. Sooooooooo, back to the idea of a get together......................................

I'd really prefer jeffe, ouachita, catfish hunter, and the other Arkansas boys take this back over and get the thing going again. From what I know at this time, we talked about a possible get together in June, 26&27, or maybe later. Scott mentioned he'd love to get in on this if it were a little later. Others said they could come if it was a little later as well. Heck, I'm game on any time everyone else agrees on. Sojeffe take 'er back over if you would sir. Lets make this happen, cause we know we should:D

Well,

The wedding that I thought was optional isn't so I can't make it the weekend in June that we originally talked about.

How about we all post the weekends that we can't make it and we can put a calender togather to pick the best weekend?

P.S. I nominate Jeffe as our leader.

Glad your back, sorry for the reason you were away.

In a day or two, Mr. Chairman of the GFWC&B, we will be happy to start making some kinda plans.

Hey, did you say you were going up to Norfolk lake? Isn't that by Mountain Home? I'd like to go there for sure. Later.....:D

Titles go with organization, why would anyone ruin a perfectly good vacation at the Lake by having to organize anything ?
The lake is where you:
get a sunburn
take a nap
get wet
spear fish
fry fish
take a nap
>
Dude, ya'll jest' come on' down and lets get wet and :
>
spear fish
fry fish

Right on the button jeffe. I'm just giggin ya a little:D I'm all for the layed back version of river diving. Heard to many horror stories about river diving. Our river is zero vis past about 15 ft down, it can get real anxious in a river. Dang muscle divers just crawl around on their hands and knees in solid blackout around here.

I'm all for later when all the guys can come up from down yonder and join us for some country livin, and eatin..

I just hope several can get together and come up for a weekend of good old fashioned layin back, sunnin, nappin, gettin wet, spearin, and eatin:D

.

Don't forget about logs that are negatively buoyant and barely hanging onto the edge of the precipice waiting for the slightest nudge to roll on you or drag you to the cold, dark bottom 180' below.

Or the snapping turtles and gator moccasins.

Or the drunken ski boat captains. Nothing like a bunch of drunk, stoned teenagers in daddys Cobalt heading back late Saturday afternoon. Dude, a red flag with a white stripe IS NOT a wakeboard slalom buoy!!

If the salt water guys want good vis they could drop down to about 100'. The water is clear down there if you don't fin the bottom. Just be sure to bring a flashlight and a drysuit cause it's dark as shit and 40 degrees.

Can't say that I've ever experienced a current in Lake Ouachita, though, thank God. That's one less thing to contend with. Although it would probably be easier to figure out where you were entangled if you were flying like a kite.

Oh, yeah. That should be:

Wake up
Spearfish
fry fish
get wet
spearfish
fry fish
drink beer
drink beer
drink beer
drink beer...
et cetera
