One of my goals in 2003 is to spear a pilot whale. I will do it at depths below 130' using a Hawaiian sling and a spare air for my tank. My plan is to accomplish this feat before March 31, and I will conduct the dive "au natural" irrespective of water temp. Please post if you can provide me with tips, suggestions, or if you would like to be part of my support team. I am currently working on corporate sponsorship, and have a tentative deal set up for an IMAX movie to be produced of the event.

To make it really worthwhile, I suggest that you get yourself one of those pilot whale calls - you know the kind that makes you sound like a female pilot whale in heat. When that big bull whale approaches (usually from behind) looking for some whale love, you can spin around and pop him between the eyes. That way you can get yourself a "trophy" pilot whale - something suitable for the wall, that you can show your friends and be proud of. :D

Wus.

Unless you grab the whale and wrestle it to the surface, it's like cheating.

I would volunteer to ride shotgun on that one. Mainly to have a good view of D4B getting mounted. Man that would be some quality entertainment.

We have similar aspirations, D4B.

One of my goals this year is to visit Boca Grande Pass in mid-May, and descend with Tarpon shanks velcrowed to each side of my rib cage, attempting to land "Hitler" with a pole spear on an apnea dive.

Of course, every adventure needs a "Plan B." So, if that doesn't work, I'll have my buddy ignore the drift line-up in the Pass, snake me through traffic in his converted mullet boat, while I'm dressed up as a vivid green tiger-striped jig, yelling "live baiters suck."

Anyone willing to ride shot-gun for either scenerio should email my agent at www.ProzacIsTheShiznet.com

Can you eat Pilot, or is it just for mounting?

They always looked tasty.

They aren't as tasty as manatee, but not as stringy as panther! Contact the Inuit Eskimos for some recipe's.

I think we should leave the manatees alone, they make great speed bumps!

Perhaps after you kill the whale we can tow it up Boca Grande Pass with a shrimp boat and cull the nets on the outgoing tide. i'm sure the whale carcass and by catch will attract all sorts of good creatures to shoot.

. . . .If you guys showed any mercy I'd be disappointed in ya'.
